Once an executive’s goals are understood and how well the current organization meets them, a strategic planning exercise is employed to modify the organizational structure or practices to better meet the goals as defined by the executive. The strategic plan may call for a change in the way a group performs, the addition or elimination of group, or a complete restructuring of the organization.
Avanco staff has found a few critical success factors in making lasting change in an organization. The greatest success factor is to create a sense of ownership. The client staff must own the change. Corporate America (still) talks about getting buy in. The whole buy in step can be eliminated when the ideas for improvement come from those who work in the environment. Avanco works closely with the staff of each organization to define how each organization must change in order to better meet its mission.
